Think before you sell your JK/JKU
My dad had a old CJ-5 when I was growing up. Always loved riding in it and was the first vehicle I ever got to steer. I've allayed wanted a Jeep of my own but it was never feasible. Then when the JKU cam out I really liked them. Finally last September I got my nicely equipped 13 Rock Lobster Red JKU Sport and I couldn't be happier. My dad was even impressed when he drove it. The hardest part now is prioritizing what I'm gonna do to it first. Lol. I don't see me being without one again.
I had 07 unlimited. Got screwed on trade and bought a 08 charger Daytona edition. Loved the v8 but it got old and too expensive. Went back to a 95 yj as winter car and then got rid of charger. Then bought a 98 Tj has for about 4 years until I bought my 2012 2 dr in October! Much happier with this one, I always wanted the two door and manual :-).
And to people talking about winter and wanting to sell jeep- you must not have real winters. I LOVE my jeep in the winter/snow. Nothing like fresh 24" of snow to drive down street through!

I had a 2010 jku... I grew to hate the fact that it was so underpowered, to the point where I hated the thing. I didn't want to dare install a supercharger because after 15,000 miles I was burning 1 qt of oil every oil change. The interior also drove me crazy.
I traded on a 2013 almost a year ago and I couldn't be happier with the engine and interior. It had all of the same options as my old jeep, except I got an auto w/ remote start and it has the uconnect. While it is never a good financial decision to trade in a car so soon, this was the right move for me. Cool cars/jeeps/trucks are dumb emotional purchases that we don't need, but we NEED. As long as you can afford it, and won't find yourself looking for other vehicles in a year or two, kick some tires at the dealerships.

$1500 for gears and you'd have an entire different opinion of your Jeep! Surely that would have been cheaper than switching vehicles entirely?!?
I had a 2010 JKU and I loved it, but our step daughter was squished in the back seat between two huge car seats. Let my husband talk me into trading er in for a Town and Country.
Don't get me wrong that van was nice and fully loaded. Also with stow and go seats I could transport just about anything (hell I even got a mattress in there once when the delivery guy forgot it...). But I HATED driving a van... I hated the stereo type associated with one.
Once we moved to Alaska I talked him into getting me another Jeep. He knew how much I missed mine. I had to compromise with him on some options (he wanted auto everything and a hard top) but I am back in another Jeep and couldn't be more excited! (Even if I do miss driving a stick). Moral of story: Jeep=happy wife

Thanks for all the replies guys, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that's made a decision like this without truly thinking it through. One of you said "you don't miss it until it's gone", and that holds so true in this situation. I'll still be around on this forum, and I'll be back in a Wrangler once I can pay down my current loan. It can't come soon enough
Congrats on the new purchase!! I love that color, too!!
I also sold my Jeep. It was my dream vehicle as a kid... A neighbor had one and I thought It was cool. Daisy Duke driving one helped, too! I finally bought my Slate Blue 2008 Sahara in 09/07. I LOVED HER!!! I had the $$$ at the time to just buy her outright. Unfortunately, times changed not long after and it got to the point I couldn't afford the maintanence, gas and taxes... So I had to sell her. I regret it every day! As you can see in my profile pic, I took her out and got her dirty and had a lot of fun. I miss that!!
My boyfriend bought a 2010 2door sport in October... Since his son is getting older and growing like a weed, he decided to invest in a JKU next year... So, I will get his Jeep and trade in my Ford Focus! You think the '07-'10 JKs have no power!! I can't get out of my own way in that damn Focus!!
