Default Thoughts on 07 Rubi's

Hey!

I'm currently in the market to purchase my first Jeep. I've been wheeling with friends over the past two years and have grown to love the hobby. I'm interested in purchasing a 07-09 Rubicon not heavily modded. I've been told to stay away from '07 models but really haven't heard why or what problems are associated with them. Any comments or general knowledge on why I should stay away from this particular year would be great. I currently do have my eye on a '07 Rubi with 35,000km on it for 19g's or obo.

Thoughts?

I have an 07 rubi with 105,000 miles on it, had 2 clutches a waterpump and three batteries. Not bad for that many miles, I have spent more on mods then repairs.

i had an 07 JKU with no problems. bought in dec. 06. anything wrong with it, i did it. seriously, this board is great but not a great sampling. its a concentrated group of folks. what may be a relatively rare issue is discussed at length here and naturally draws the interest of those with the same problem(s) so it appears at first blush to be more common than it is. Nothing is guaranteed of course, in anything, much less a used vehicle; but i wouldnt be afraid to buy an 07 wrngler of any stripe assuming it wasnt beat to death.

In 07 ALL the JKs with an auto trans got 4.10 gears (optional on the manual trans) so the rubicon was alot of money to get very little else other than a 4.1 transfer case. You could even get trackbar disconects on the X.

My 07 rubi runs great.
I just turned 60,000 miles on it. it has had no real issues to speak of.

Currently I have 84000 miles on my 07 Sahara. It Burns a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Other than that it has been very reliable.
