The tint shop just shattered my back glass!
Tempered glass is sensitive to focussed pressure points, and sometimes if they were using a razor blade to trim the tint film, a scratch from the blade onto the glass may have been enough to cause it shatter.
Ever pushed a piece of porcelain from a broken spark plug onto side glass (not on your JK of course!) - you can cause it to shatter in seconds.

It is tempered glass. If it was cold, and they used a heat gun to apply the film, the glass could shatter.
My JK has a rear tailgate glass that has a very dark factory tint already. I thought they were all tinted from the factory?

I think that it was either the heat or he shut it onto the brake light. Another possibility i think that he might of had trouble with the windshield wiper and slipped and hit the glass with metal pliers. I wasn't in the garage the had it closed off "EMPLOYEE's ONLY". The really weird thing is the guy wanted me to pay him before I left today eventhough he won't get the glass until in the morning! The glass is 650$ and he was crying about it, but I said that i wasn't gonna pay him for tinting my windows when my jeep was gonna sit in his shop for 2 days with the glass broken out because of something they did.
he was the owner... :( I'm dreading what kinda of job they're going to do putting the glass in bc of the wiper motor and all the other stuff that has to be put on.:( My lawyer loves me though so let him try to screw me on it. I feel like i was pretty civil considering the circumstances.
A FORD F150 with rousch stickers and a black purple tiger striped 5.0 mustang, not a hummer, but maybe even worse. I wouldn't let guys like that do a lift , but you gotta figure tint would be right up their alley.
