Default Tip Level For Opening Top?

What is the minimum amount of time/miles required to make it worthwhile to open the top? Is it worth the effort to drive for 10 minutes with the top open, only to have to close it up again?
Came upon this dilemma this week - beautiful weather yesterday, but I had to leave town today on business. So rather than open the top, just left it closed. It would have meant opening the top for a 10 mile ride then closing it back up. Now I'm feeling guilty about it.....

I take my windows off and put the top down all most every morning for my 18 mile drive to work and depending on the weather I either put it back up when I get there or when I get home. only been a few nights so far this summer I didn't have to worry about chance of rain. If the weather is permitting, take it down, even if it just around the corner to the 7-11

If it were me in that situation I probably would have flipped open the sunrider...it's a nice compromise for the short trip

ditto. i need 24 hours of clear sky to put the top down all the way. i'll put the sunrider back for any ride longer than 10 minutes.

I'd say it all depends on your ease and speed of dropping your top. I now have a window roll, thanks to my wife for a fathers day gift and I'm pretty damn fast with getting the top up and down these days so for me....

If it's more than a ten minute outing and it's not raining, the windows are out and the top is down!

same here with the sunrder...if the weather calls for rain next day, I will likely use the sunrider the day before rain is in the forecast. If clear weather and warm is forecasted top stays down until otherwise. If the weather is kind of cloudy but warmish, I leave the top up, but take the windows out and store them. Once some sun comes, much easier taking it down without windows.

If I'm feeling froggy, I'll drop the top for the morning commute. Get to work, put up top. Drive around in the heat all day with the AC blastin. Top back down for evening commute. It's always worth it

Just take it off and keep it off.
