I think that's a great idea!
Like you, my jeep is a DD as well, so I can't really afford to trash it, roll it, or anything else along those lines. Don't get me wrong, I want to have fun and enjoy what it can do, but I also want it to be able to get me to work the next week. I think there are plenty of local jeepers who would be interested. If nothing else, like you said, it would allow everyone to hang out every now and then and show their rig off.
I know one or two guys who are in the rocket city rock crawlers, but like you said, a large part of them drive modified and trailored rigs. No way I can keep up with all of those guys. It would be nice to get a jeep only club going aimed towards the weekend warrior who needs to leave the trail with most of his/her parts still mounted on the jeep
At least we can see what interest is out there...?
