I just bought a popup, picking it up Thursday, I don't know what to expect with the JK but I think it will be fine. I plan on regearing soon, and I'm sure my 305 KM2s (thinking about KOs same size) will have to go, but I'm waiting to see how serious we are going to be with this camping thing. I was against a popup until we started looking at them, they make the most sense, weight wise, for the jeep.
One thing is for sure, if a Honda Minivan can tow it then the JK can handle it.

I just installed the 7 pin connector and the B&M supercooler, I'm ready to go.

I'm looking at the R-pod 181 and the Wolf Pup 16B. Both are within the weight capacity and are not tents. Plus the shower/toilet is nice.

Those are really nice trailers good find. you are able to pull these because you have the Unlimited JK, I cannot I am limited with the the 2000 lbs with the
Rubicon 2dr... I had to sell my trailer cause it was 1200 lbs too much
I have to go with a light weight popup.... grrrr

Really like the wolf pup, but decided against it because there is so much more room in the popup and a lot less wind resistance for the jeep to deal with.

That's my concern... but the wife doesn't like tents, too cold and windy when at camp. Plus we are big people, the bathroom on the Wolf Pup 16B is bigger than the popups. However, depending on price and ease of towing, I might veto her decision and go with a popup. It's a long way away before we can afford another payment like that, so I'm purely gathering data.

Yep I understand, the bathroom situation in the popup is not the best, that's why we decided to go with the jayco 1207, no inside restroom, but no estrogen in my camp either. The thought of putting serious miles behind the wheel towing with the JK worried me so I opted for the lightest choice possible. Actually, there are lighter popups than the 1207, but the extra sitting space and king/queen beds are cool.

For my camping the A/C is the most important thing, it's basically a nice air conditioned tent.

Nice!!! I too don't put much thought into a bathroom, hell I'm good sleeping in the back of my Jeep with my Jeep bed... but gotta keep the better half happy.

I want a trailer sooo bad... but I'll need to wait a bit... all the time to do more research. Now I'm looking at the Flagstaff Micro Lite XLT 18RK
