Default Towing a Pop Up with a 2-Door

After a lot of research and work I finally got to take my pop up on its first official trip. Despite what people will tell you on the forum the 2-Door JK tows quite well. I took the trailer from near sea level to over 8K ft to camp in Big Bear and then back down the hill no problem. Click image for larger version

Trailer is an Aliner Sport, weighs around 1500# loaded and has electric brakes.

For the most part, the reason that Unlimiteds are rated to tow more is the wheel base being longer.

That's correct, but when you post a question about towing a pop up with a 2 door you mainly get people saying don't do it or you can't do it, too dangerous. In reality as long as your driving safely and towing within weight spec, your totally fine. Never felt like it was pushing out in turns or not tracking well; the route to big bear is one of the curviest ascents and descents in all of southern Cal.

I used to live in Yucaipa 12 years ago. Of course back then I was running a Bronco. The main thing is you are o.k. on power and that trailer isn't heavy or insanely long. Plus, even the 2rd JK is heavy which helps.
