Is that what it is? I thought maybe all the mud and dirt that bob is wearing was confusing the sensors (the ones that detect a presence), which we have a lot of here.

I always thought the lights that had pads were weight triggered, but that explains why a 5,000 lb Jeep might get skipped if it's not triggered by weight.

I've had a light skip me once when I was driving my old car (poor little car...I still miss it!)...just a regular, run-of-the-mill car that should've triggered whatever sensor was there.

Thanks for all the explanations! Will have to try the creeping thing next time. I did roll back and forth a couple times without any success. Good thing the pedestrian pushed the walk button or I would have had to run the red light

I say magnetize the lower control arms and straddle both lanes.

I have this problem all the time. I'm going to put magnets on the skid plates, and if that doesn't work, then the control arms. Or maybe the diff cover.

They should stop putting the cheap plastic minivan engines in them.

I've had this happen too. I thought something was up after I lifted my jeep.

You weren't far off. Howstuffworks has a decent explanation.
