Default trail covers

has anyone used any of the trail covers on the market, im interested in finding out just how weather proof they actually are, would be nice to just throw it on when its gonna rain instead of putting the top on and taking it off again

Default Bestop all the way...

If you want coverage for doors off, then you want the Bestop. It is heavy duty and holds up well against rain. The MOPAR one doesn't cover the door opening and is thin and lighter.

I have a 4 door JK and have the Best Top trail cover.

Weather wise it is pretty good at keeping out the elements. It does not secure completely at the front of the door so there is a posibility of moisture getting in if the winds are right and the rains are heavy enough.

1. Does not work well with the doors on unless you have mirror relocation brckt

2. Does not work well with the soft top attached, but will work just a pain.

When the weather is good I take the doors and top completely off and have used this cover regularly for about a year now and it has held up well. I even rinse it off while itrs on the jeep.

Looking to buy the rampage full cover which goes over doors top and all. Avail for about $50 - 55 plus ups

All in all the cover does the job I bought it for. keeping overnite moisture and critters out. If rain is 50% or less I throw it in the back for stops, while driving you stay dry anyway. Only takes a couple minutes to install.

Some mornins throw it over the fence to dry the dew and its ready to go again.

Bestop. Yeah, sometimes a little water will get through, but usually not.
It fits nicely over the Mopar Sun Bonnet (their dorky safari top name).
And it survived this (that's a quarter in the inset pic):

The only (small) negative: I have the Shrockworks rock rails and had to modify
the clips on the trail cover so they would fit into the gap between the rock rails
and the JK's pinch seam. That worked fine for the first year or so. Then, few
weeks ago returned from a pretty rough run at Disney, OK and now the right
side will not fit--the gap between the rock rail and the pinch seam is too small.
So, I took some small diameter rope and now tie it on. It rained pretty heavy
last night--I guess I'll get to see how well that's working later today. LOL!

Around Oklahoma, if it's not the hail, then it's the ice:

You might notice that the trees in that photo are gone in the first one I posted earlier with the hail. As are many tens of thousands of trees throughout the Oklahoma City metro. That was a pretty bad one.
