Default Tricky Tranny

Do the 12 auto's have a learning period? I've got 1000 miles on mine and it seems like the shift points are changing. It seems to want shift too early between 1-2 and then stumbles a bit into 3rd. This is all under slight acceleration, like coming out of my driveway.

Wow!! this thread went down hill fast!!

My 12 seems to shift 'normally' for me... I'd be interested in knowing the answer to your question as well.

Did you notice how your Jeep doesn't coast at all? That is annoying... feels like I have a motor brake on my Jeep.

Mine does that too. What I do when I know I'm going to want to coast, like to a stop sign, I toss it in neutral. I've read somewhere here to wait till 2 or 3000 miles and remove the positive battery cable and touch it to the negative battery terminal. This resets the computer to factory settings including the shift points.

Hmmm... okay. Post when you get to this point and let me know if it worked for you. I am very interested in the outcome.

This is the reset procedure I plan on doing this week. http://www.quadratec.com/jeep_knowle...article-89.htm
