Ultimate Jeep top?
I know in Colorado many people prefer the hard top due to the *cough* winters (joke)...
However the point of the Jeep Wrangler is to be able to throw the top back and be exposed to the sun. However as weather changes rapidly here (CO) it's always smart to be able to cover up quickly.
So I would like to know what are the positives and negatives of current soft tops available?
What would you as a Wrangler owner like to have that isn't offered?

I really like the Freedom Top, but it's not perfect. In the 2-door model, carrying those darn top panels in the back really takes up space, and it's cumbersome/annoying when it starts to sprinkle and you have to unload the Jeep to get the top panels out of the back to put back on top.
I'm not sure if it exists, but I'd like to see some kind of soft-top insert for where the freedom panels go. Something that folds/stuffs under a seat for when you don't want it, and can be easily installed to keep rain/wind/bird-poo OUT.
If you're taking requests for ponies AND unicorns, then I'll take a soft top that, when a button is pressed on the dash, drops itself while nicely unzipping and rolling the rear windows without scratching them, and then stows everything neatly in the cargo compartment, in <30 seconds, please.

I only have a soft top (08 JKU), so I don't know what it is like to deal with a hard top. The factory soft top is pretty easy/fast to set up when you get caught in weather. I know a few guys that have the Trektop NX and that thing looks/works pretty sweet but I don't know how fast you can put it back together when you have to. You could always pick up one of those emergency tops and just carry it when you have the top off or weather is coming.

Only thing not really available is a power-top that is affordable or easy to install. My parents put one on their rubicon, and its awesome. However the price is insane and the fit leaves something to be desired.
I also always wondered about a hardtop bikini top with no windows or zip out side windows. Similar to the flat top jk concept.

I have the Off Road Hero's Fastback top and It is just about perfect for me. It looks great, fits really well. There are FINALLY no leaks even in heavy rain! Very quiet at highway speeds.
Best of all its modular. SO if I want a little sun but don't need the entire top down I just roll the front section forward. For the first time since I bought the Jeep in Oct '06 my wife can put the top up or down...of course now she wants to drive the Jeep..so that might not be a positive...
Sorry I don't have any real good pictures of the top, but here are a couple..

That's what I have.... The nx..... I carry an emergency top that I can drive with it on.... All week it's gonna be nice but today is rain all day so.... <img src="https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=462532"/>I just throw front doors on for heavy rain... I'm not going out today anyway.... The Nx goes on and off pretty easy and u can fold it back where the factory soft top goes for if u don't have emergency top... I also have hard top and once it's on for the winter, it on.... I'll take freedom panels and front doors off on nice days.
