Do all models come with the insulaton pad under the hhod or just the Sahara and up? I was told that only Sahara's have it....and I never even got lights under the hood or the driver side...

 

The under the hood mat you are refering to I believe is actually for fires....

or to stop them rather.

in the even your engine catches on fire, the matt is to fall off the hood, and cover it in fire retardent materials...

Its in a lot of cars, but never in the TJs... I would assume all JKs have it...

 

someone lied to you, my unlimited x has it, as did the rubi i saw on the lot.

 

My "X" built in December does not have this. I thought is was supposed to, but didn't really mind because not having it makes spraying off the mud easier. I just thought it was for sound deadening. My '87 YJ Laredo had this, but none of my other Jeeps have ever had it.

 

I have one step up from the very basic X and mine has it.

 

My Unlimited X (one step up from base) built in October (I think) has it. Used it to hide my XM Antenna.

 

my Unlimited X model with S package does not have any underhood padding... I was thinking of using something like this:

But if its supposed to have it, i'll make my dealer install it, along with the list of other stuff that was left out at the factory...

For those of you with liners under the hood, do you have a light as well? I have the liner and wiring for the light but no light. Need to take into the dealer here anyhow so guess will address this one as well...
