Under Hood Insulation
I gotta say that all that damn hood insulation did was hold mud and WATER, besides constantly dripping onto the motor while wet and wheeling, it frooze after one trip and sagged down about a foot when I opened the hood and I couldnt get the prop rod to hold the hood up, so if I were all you upset that you didnt get one I wouldnt worry about it. I removed mine and cant tell any difference besides my engine doesnt look like its on fire after I go thru some deep water lol
my thoughts on why some get it and some dont, I think it depends when your jeep came by that station on the assembly line, if worker was on bathroom break or smoke break they didnt bother to cover that station

Well, for me it's "never say never". ESPECIALLY with a Chrysler product. I knew a guy in high school whose dad bought a 1969 Plum Crazy Road Runner NEW. Those colors were not supposed to be out until the 1970 model year. This car had a build date late in 1968, and all the fender tags indicated the car was original. I've seen too many cars and options that just weren't "supposed to be", but there they sat. So the bottom line for me is, anything's possible.
I want to remove the isolation from under my hood it just looks nasty and smells like swamp water. I cant get it clean..
Does anyone know if it will cause the paint on the hood to fade due to heat? that's my biggest concern

From: Apple Valley, California Good ole Mojave Desert.
my 07 silver X didn't have the insulation and the paint held up just fine. even out here in this crazy desert heat.
My March 08 does not have it nor do I want it.
That engine gets so hot, last thing I want to do is hold more heat it. Not good for the engine and not good for the steering clunk.
In fact I wanna get an AEV hood with vents.

X2 I pulled mine out when I put in the hood louvers. I can't really figure out why it was there to begin with.
Thats a sweet hood I was thinking the same thing
