Upgrading Dash to '11 possibilities?
How much did you spend on the door panels and console, If you don't mind me asking? Did you get all the other parts, like the handles and lock switches also?
I already have Katskinz leather on my seats. So I would probably be pretty happy with just the door panels and console upgrade. It looks like new you would be about $1200+ into the dash replacement.
I just got out bid on a totaled rollover '12 JKU Rubicon at auction. It went for $6k! It had the saddle leather, and I also wanted the transfer case....Maybe I need to find someone who needs driveline parts to go in with me on an auction. There are plenty of rollovers and rear ended Jeeps that still "run and drive" that I could scavenge the interior and someone else might want the engine/transmission axles.....

I'm not trying to redo my entire interior, but I did want to update some of the items so it looks better. My jeep is currently being repainted crush, so the black interior looks better than the gray on it. With the 10AM hood and some unique paint, it looks much better!
I just did seat swap in my jeep. the passenger seat sits a little more inboard then the 07 to 10. the old console would not work. New issue is that the airbag light for seat will come on when I putthe olding seat frame. I need to do some research on the 08 module over my 07. in attempt to get rid of the seat sensors. also the door panels do not fit 07 to 10 door shells.
the 2011 TSM is available on techauthority.. you can pay $30 for a 3 day subscription (you can actually do a preview for free and see if the vehicle on techauthority is available... before you pay the money...
what I think is entirely funny about this thread is that everyone says it is not possible...
what is it? oh my god? a jeeper can mod his suspension to death, swap out engines, retrofit dana 60 axles, put in cages, do everything OFF-ROAD related and he gets ALL THE SUPPORT in the world from forum members!!!
yet when he wants to Mod his interior and change the LOOK or the CREATURE COMFORTS, he gets flamed into the ground!!!!!!
now thats some serious bigotry!! get the F over it guys.. its just another major MOD like all jeepers do... we MOD our jeeps to make them OUR OWN!!..
now onto business, from what I can see this is entirely possible, however it wont be easy, but is doable.. and I'll bet sooner that later daveys jeeps will have donor vehicles... more than likely at some place in this USA, someone has already totalled a new 2011.. law of averages says it has happened..
the powertrain, transmission, etc is all the same... as are the radio hookups, steering column is basically the same too...
the HVAC system is now electrically driven as opposed to cable driven, thats no big deal if yanked from a donor.. everything under the hood is the same...
the clockspring is different to accomodate more connections for the EVIC controls.. again donor swap...
the engine harnesses and TIPM appear to be the same, although some additional pins installed...
I would look up pinouts on the PCM's and see if they are the same, but I'll bet pin for pin they will match..
the SCM would be different to accomodate the light sensor for the automatic headlamps.. as well as the multi function lever as well...
the U-connect module will be different as it accomodates USB and not just iPOD control.
you will need new airbags as the new units will be different...
I say look for a donor vehicle and MOD ON!!
YES cost factor will be fairly high, however the OP will either have spare parts for his other JK (cousin) or will be able to sell off major parts to gain back some of the cost..
airbags, computers, cluster, etc could all be sold to gain back some of the cost...
I see this as a very do-able mod, and I look forward to the build thread for it!!
