I still can't believe my eyes. Can anyone confirm the meaning of this. I think it means that production of hard tops for 4-door unlimiteds is "to be determined", which I think means that none will be produced until some undetermined future date.

 

I think the hard tops have been listed as TBD now since January, perhaps even back into late December.

They are building them, just not as fast as the company making them can supply them.

 

Are you sure? I've been monitoring these status posts pretty closely every month as they're released and I didn't think that there had been such a restriction every month since Dec (I do remember seeing a hard top restriction in either Jan or Feb, can't remember). Also, "to be determined" sounds like none are being produced. Can any dealer confirm??

 

A dealer on another board said it means we are screwed. Only hardtops going out are 2 doors, they have to re establish a job 1 date or whatever they do to restart production. Sounds like all 4dr hardtop orders are halted where they are.

 

Yeah - I think I know what thread you're talking about and I think that dealer said that only 4-dr Rubi hardtop production has been halted. This doesn't seem to be supported by the restriction language (and doesn't make sense to me) but he has not responded to requests for clarification, so I still don't feel like I fully comprehend what this restriction means.

Sorry to be such a stickler, but these forums have proven to be the best source of information on my order. After waiting 7 months in BG I am trying desprately to see a light at the end of the tunnel, but it seems like Jeep keeps lengthening the tunnel! :sad:

 

Are you serious, you have been at BG for SEVEN months?!? I'm speechless.

 

Ordered August 9, 2006, went to BG later that month. I just checked with the dealer today and ..... drumroll ...... still in BG. I will be looking into re-ordering next week, but it is very frustrating to have to go back and renegotiate and start from scratch after so long. Apparently Jeep doesn't want my money.

Go order another one somewhere else and keep your current order open. I doubt that your dealer has any allocation for the model you ordered, that means you will never get to "D" until all the other dealers are done. Pick a 5-star dealer and go order again. I am sure that your current dealer won't have any trouble getting rid of your Jeep if it did happen to show up and you already have one.
