Vector Bar Vibration
Saw a Vector dash bar listed in my area and snagged it for under half-price to give it a try. This is an item I'd looked at in the past but not anything I would ever be willing to pay that much for as I just don't have enough things to mount. I've gone on a couple trips with the spousal unit and it would be useful if she had a place to pop her phone too, and I'll likely move my Bully Dog tuner to the bar as well. The one issue I see with this product quickly is very slight vibration, which I surmise is due to the leverage created by the ~6" mounting posts that go down in the dash. It's just enough to be annoying when trying to read something on my phone. I'm just curious if anyone else who uses this bar experiences the same thing. If that is just how it is, the mounting options the bar provides will likely outweigh this slight con.
I have a Vector bar in mine and it is rock solid with absolutely no vibrations at all. As a matter of fact, the only screw holding it in place at the moment is the one that mounts down in the dash tray in the center. The two screws on the left and right side are missing the washers (I dropped them and lost them and just haven't bothered replacing them yet) and the hole in the tab welded to the bar just drops over the screwhead and sits on the posts and still no vibrations.
Are you sure you have the two posts tightened all the way down before installing the bar on top of them? Don't overtighten them, you may risk stripping the threads or breaking them off and I'm not sure how easy it would be to replace them. I remember when I installed mine I got them finger tight and that was about it. Also, mine are not touching any other part of the dash surrounding them. Maybe you need to gently bend one to get it free from touching the surrounding dash.
This picture is kinda old and I have added more crap to the bar, but you get the idea and none of this stuff vibrates while on paved roads.

Thanks. I'll experiment a bit. I do have both of those posts hand-tight. I would clarify and say you don't physically see the bar moving at all, and if you put your hand on it much you don't feel much, but when driving down the road if you turn your phone on and are trying to glance at some text it can be a little hard to read. Admittedly, I'm not using a Ram or Series 67 mount, but I don't think it's the mount bouncing a bit. Everything feels pretty solid. I'll try a few mounts and also try just not even securing it to the posts and see if there is a difference. I do have chunky Toyo Open Country MTs and I don't live around the smoothest of roads so I'm sure those factors don't help me. I'm not expecting perfect, but I'm also used to my phone mounted to a magnetic mount stuck right to the dash and that was solid as can be.
Not sure what you are using for a phone mount now but this is what I am using and it works well. The claw mount linked below is different from the one I have attached to the bar, but it does the same basic thing. I have that attached to the bar and then the mobnetic maxx magnetically sticks to the claw mount and then the mag flex charger magnetically sticks to the maxx. It's a lot but my phone (iPhone 12max with the Magsafe charging capability, hence all the magnetic stuff) magnetically sticks and charges at the same time and it has never once moved. Not even when rock crawling the deepest depths of the potholes that I-75 in Michigan can offer. And those potholes can swallow small children.

I know all of that is a bit of money, but originally, until they came out with the magflex charger all I had was a metal plate stuck to the back of my phone case and I stuck that to the magnetic stick and had to plug the charger cord in. You could still do that too if you don't want to get the mag charger. Mine still never moved even when mounting the phone that way.

So I looked at that Mobarmor stuff. The claw looked very interesting but I wasn't super thrilled with the price tag. I did see Amazon Prime had it for the same $42 or whatnot and figured I'd order it and could simply return it I didn't like it. It showed up today and all I can say is this thing is an awesome mount. The weight of the small package alone told me it was a quality item. I sure like the versatility the claw has. The ONLY thing I don't care for so much is when mounted on the bar the tightening screw needs to be orientated up and is a little distracting as it sticks up above my phone (i prefer having the phone in landscape and as low as possible). Regardless I'll be keeping this thing cuz it seems like a great mount and worth the $42 after all. Thanks!
Oh, I'd also add that I've done a bit of driving with this mount now and there are zero vibes. I was using a pretty cheap mount before so I'm going to chalk up the vibe issue to that and not the Vector bar itself.
