ordered a new Rubicon 3/24/07 checked with dealer today and he showed me a letter from Chrysler that delivery time would be 3 months. rubicon 4 door demand has exceeded build program by 500 %.. the suppliers for the Rubicon Axles can not keep up despite working 7 days a week.....So I guess I will be waiting

This is the letter in its entirety:

Subject:

Jeep Dealers:

The Jeep Wrangler 4 door is a phenomenon like nothing else in America. It is truly the hottest product in the US, and this kind of demand has not been seen at the Chrysler Group since the launch of the PT Cruiser.

We're selling alot of Wranglers in the BC. Were on pace for nearly 500 Wranglewr 4 door's in April. And limited only by supply. And the 2 door Wrangler is pacing for nearly 350 units.......thats 850 Wranglers in April. Pretty good numbers.

Rubicon 4 door demand has exceeded build program by 500%. The supplier for Rubicon Axles can not keep up despite working 7 days a week. The Wrangler plant in Toledo is also working 7 days a week.

There is inventory opportunity for several other Wrangler models. For instance the Wrangler 2 door is selling at higher levels than the old model and we're not even in Wrangler season yet. Wrangler 2 door is best in class, and we have barely scratched the surface of this model's retail potential. The 4 door Sahara Soft top is our best seller and accounts for nearly 50% of 4 door sales....with a days on lot or less than 40. Both of these models are available for schedule this month.

We need to work togeather and set customer epectations on 4 door Rubicon delivery. The facts are these: Rubicon is built out for May, and we are over-sheduled by a 100 units in this BC (build Cycle) alone. The normal "D" station time is 60 days at least. Jeep dealers receiving Rubicon and hard top stock will
continue to be difficult. The plant is working to produce aged sold orders at this time.
Please work with us and give your customer's a reasonable expectation for delivery of nearly 3 months on a sold order. Hopefully we can beat this delivery time. But one thing is for sure...........the Wrangler in the customer's driveway will definitely exceed expectations.

Thank you for working with us on this exciting product line.

My Rubicon 4-door took 6 months to show up. Almost to the day. Ordered 10/28. Delivered 3/27. You may be getting an 08 model if you order now.

I think they are lying, if I'm built out till May. (Still in BG status. I'll be pushing 150 days in BG, then 60 in D on top of that, hmmm Better tell your customers 7 months on a Rubicon. Though I doubt the axles. My dealers gets 2 door rubi's regularily at about 4 to 6 weeks order to delivery (note 2 weeks shipping in included).

I guess the wrangler wr is the rubicon model? Last I read they were producing 600 or so wranglers per day, so I do not understand their letter.

Someone want to explain?

Will rumors are rumors, 600 a day would equal 18000 per month, of one model. They are on schedule, the key word is schedule for 850 Wranglers, 2 doors, 4 doors and Rubicons, for April that is approximately 25 wranglers a day. Of course that is if all the supplie, ie....... axels, Fredom Tops, Soft top, tranny's are available. And if they had been building 600 a day since January they would have build 60000 or so Jeeps since the first of the year and this topic would be a mute topic. Papabear
