Default Washed The JK

My wife and I spent 6 hours yesterday washing/cleaning all 3 vehicles.

I have to admit that I thought the Jeep would be the easiest as it is a billboard. I will now admit I was wrong. That billboard chews up bugs on the front while on the highway. What a pain. I had to soak the bugs, then come back and scrub.

It is beautiful now though. Looks as clean as when it was new. I only did this as I will be wheeling with my father-in -law for June13-14 and want before/after pics.

Anyone else have the same problem with bugs on the front of our brick shaped Jeeps?

I spent the better part of the weekend really detaining mine. I dont get bugs too bad, but everytime I wash it, I at least put a coat of wax on the grill and leading edge of the hood. That seems to keep the bugs from sticking.

Smack'in them bugs at highway speed causes a mess for sure. Lucky for me I don't have to deal with it but only few times a year. You are smart to wash off soon and not let the sun bake them into the paint.

I remember the Florida bugs That is some insane build-up tho....never heard of using dryer sheets but I'll give it a shot to clean off the 'squitos I pick up.

So you're the reason my water pressure was low all day !!! I usually hit the grill with a little Bug & Tar before I wash. I end up having to use it on the doors too from all the road grime that sticks to the doors.

How about some pics before it gets all dirty again

Wash it good and get a good coat of wax on it and they will come off much easier. Regular washing will also help as well. We have some sort of swarming May Flies right now and they are nasty for vehicles.

dryer sheets work very well! take a dryer sheet, get it wet, and lightly scrub.
That brings back some memories. I used to run Fleetwash in Orlando. We were a mobile truck washing business. The crews loved love bug season on tractor trailers and box trucks.
