Default Water Damage?

I am curious as to what would happen if I accidentally left the top down and it rained. Not a thunderstorm more of a steady rain. Has this ever happened to anyone? Was there any permanent damage?

Yes they have them, I'm not sure were they are, there is a thread that has the location of them.. I don't know what the name of the thread is. I'm sure someone here will point you to it.

Hasn't happened in the JK yet but in both my TJ and YJ. YJ had about 3 inches of water in the cupholder. I was away all day and it poured. Took a shop vac to it and used some fans overnight and all was well. The only problem I could see with the JK is maybe the radio since it sits at the top of the console.

It's happened to me in my JK...

But, if you take the top off and plan on leaving it off then...you have to pull the carpet and the plugs. It took me all of 5 mins to pull all the carpet and plugs.

I have power and water got into the doors and pulled a poltergeist...

The doors locked/unlocked on their own until they dried out.

Everything else has held up...

When i owned my 89YJ my top was off from may through september. Had the plugs pulled and everything else was fine.

With my unlimited jk I am concerned.

The yj had vinyl seats. Jk has cloth seats.

The plastic molding where the side bars hit the windshield appear as though they would be wonderful rain collectors

The electronics are more complicated/vulnerable.

So far I have been very parinoid about getting the jk rained on.

well where I live the weather can change on you in a hurry ... I was out with the top off and all of the sudden it became cloudy and then just dropped out of the sky, the the rain came falling... I tried running to the jeep (YJ) but by the time I had reached it , there was 4" of water in the floor...It couldn't get any more wet so I just drove it home...I looked like an idiot at the stop lights, but oh well.... when I arrived home the sun came back out I pulled everything out and pulled the plugs ... no harm done just felt silly to be driving around with the top off during the rain...
