Default What to do if...

I can't find the exact JK I want anywhere in Florida. However, I have found one I can live with near my parents in New Jersey. How do I approach a dealer down here in terms of getting the car from the dealer up north. Can I still get a half decent deal on a car that is brought in....a little upset, because Jeep has changed the prices already on Jeep.com, the sahara 2009 prices, or second half 08 prices, are already up, so ordering a car has already gone up in price...

I can't seem to find any cars around here, built exactly, or almost exactly as I want it....hmm

When I bought my JK, the salesman said that if they brought one in within 500 miles I wouldn't have to pay shipping--that was built into the delivery charge. Maybe open up the discussion with your presumptive dealer like that: "If I found a JK, say in NJ, how much would it cost me to bring it down here?"

I think that is going to add to the dealer's (and your) expense. If he did a dealer trade for the Jeep, then they would have to pay for a driver or for shipping both ways.

Are you opposed to ordering one?

Well, no, but by September....when i return to the area from my summer away with work (i work on a boat)....It will have to be an 09....that means more $$...and they will proabably change some things to make it more difficult to get the packages I want. Car companies always pull this business.....if you want X, you'll now have to get Y....and so on...

I am a Tallship captain/sailor, I thought you might be on one of the boats back east.

Must be nice to have heads that work, dry bunks and not covered in tar all the time.

What's wrong with a nice long drive back from NJ to enjoy your new Jeep?

That's a distinct possiblilty. Couple questions regarding that. The car I have now is in Florida. But licensed and registered in NJ. So first I would have to drive it up. Then drive the new one back.

However. how does the insurance work. I need florida insurance, but that requires a florida title? The NJ dealer would set the car up for NJ....and then I get a front mounting bracket......hmmm I wouldn't mind the long drive, just have a lot of questions.....anybody purchase out of state.....
