What is up with the 4drs rear seats?
I think that they are ok for adults for a short ride = less than an hour. I think that they should work for our kids without much of a problem. DC really dropped the ball on the seats on this one.
I am going to look at modifying the rear seat to make it recline if I ever get one. The main thing is to ensure that the seat maintains its structural integrity in the event of an accident. Even if I can not make it adjustable, It should not be too difficult to modify it to be slightly reclined in a fixed position.

Minivans have captains chairs in the middle, the benches don't adjust. I can't afford a Navigator, and I dare you to find me a true back seat (ie third row) of an Expedition that reclines.
Oh, and to the OP, my passengers haven't complained yet, not even on a 4 hour drive. Maybe they just aren't as whiny as some? I haven't ridden back there, so I don't know how it rides. Nor do I plan to anytime soon.

The rear seats would be better if they were adjustable. It was the first thing I noticed when I test drove the 4-dr. They just seemed too "straight." Probably fine for a short ride, but being 6' 3" I would find it uncomfortable on a long ride.
Guess I'll find out once my Jeep arrives. Of course I'll be riding in the front and I love the height adjustable front seat.

I wish DC had just designed the JK to be a minivan, oh wait I guess I probably could have gone and just bought a Town and Country instead and call it a TC and replace the logo with a Jeep logo, make sure to get a sunroof too so you get that open air feeling on the warmer days, and go ahead and trade in my man card while I'm at it and at least all the b'tchin would make since since that's who drive's minivans..........
seriously......i'm joking......my wife owns a minivan and as everyone knows MINIVAN=MEGAFUN.......

The seats in the commander sit straigt up too, not to mention, the bench part is tilted down. Very unconfortable.
But I think we are all missing the real solution. just rip them out and put to two Mastercraft seats in.
