Default What is it worth? Just curious...

I'm not looking to sell my jk, just curious as to what you guys think it's worth or what you would pay if you were in the market and liked my jeep.

The jeep is in great condition. First owner, purchased new in May 2012. No dents or damage, never wrecked. There are two chips in the paint, both very minor - one on the hard top (not sure how on the hell it happened?), and one on the hood (had to be a rock from a semi I think). Garage kept and waxed 2 times a year.

2012 Sahara Unlimited

Paint match top and fenders
Rear limited slip
Leather (saddle brown)
Heather seats

KBB estimates value without mods @ ~$29k for private sale. Purchased for $36,500 new in May 2012.

I have not done a good job keeping up with what I have spent in mods, but I would assume its in the $10-$12k range doing some quick math.

Let me know your thoughts!

for the most part you will not recover much if any of the upgrades put in.

I just did the same and got a very similar number for "very good" value. Maybe I did select 2dr on accident... Who knows...

Thanks for bringing that up.

As far as recouping my mod value - not expecting to get it all back or anything. Especially on commodity components like a winch, tires, etc. I just continue to see jeeps in for sale sections and used ones at the dealer (not dealer modded with AEV) that seen to be priced very high. For instance, just last week I saw a used unlimited sport with what looked like a 3.5" or 4", 35's, factory bumpers, no winch, bilstein shocks, didn't appear to have been sleeved, gussets, gears, etc, for $37.5

That seemed high. Maybe just me though.

32k seems about right for it. Really nothing special about it and a modded jeep will scare off most people looking for a jeep. I would think you would be lucky to .10 on the dollar for those mods. You would be better off to put it back to stock and sell it. You could get 40-50% back on the mods on the for sale forums.
