To save you time when you need to do touch up, use a deck of cards stuck in between the tire and wheel. Protects the tire and takes about 1-2 minutes to do, a lot faster than taping.

Bought a tray for the top of the center of my dash.
Bought a Chrysler microphone to enable the handsfree phone (then realized that the wind noise makes it nearly impossible for the other person to hear me).
Made a mount for my trailer brake controller on top of the dash (above the instrument cluster).
Made some real arm rests for those doors.
Made a soft vinyl slip-on cover for the center console.
Made a set of four "oh shoot" handles.
Drilled out and replaced those fake screws around the stick shift boot with real screws.
Bought a better set of hood hold-downs that have stopped the hood "flutter."
Bought a monthly plan (unlimited washes) at on of the local full-service car washes.
Cleaned out half of the garage so I can park inside (for the first winter in seven years).

A few bits of wire and crimp on connectors (or you could solder) and I did the fender blinker mod. Now my fender lights blink with my turn signals.

I'm not sure if this falls under the "cheap" category....but I feel the Rugged Ridge soft top boot was a very worth while mod for me. $50.

I usually keep my soft top on and put the hard top on over it in the winter. The boot helps protect it when I'm sliding things in and out of the rear. (kind of like condom, now that I worded it like that) When I'm riding with the soft top in the summer, it keeps the soft top from flapping around and protects the inside white material protected from dirt and such.
