Default Glad mine is clueless...

Package on doorstep:

Wife: What's in the box?

Me: Jeep parts.

Wife: What kind of Jeep parts?

Me: Well, this time I got rear swaybar extensions so that the electronic disconnect doesn't flip when I flex the suspension. Plus brake line relocation brackets so that when I lift the Jeep it drops the brackets low enough..... (10 minutes later) Blah, blah, technical terms, blah blah....

Wife: (Going to the refrigerator to get something to eat and lying on the couch) OK SHUT UP!!!

She didn't even ask how much it cost....

Since the wife and I are older now I don't need to make excuses but I do have to wait a little while until I can save up for the mod I want. I also put things into a priority list so I spend the money on what I need/want next.

Me: I really need that winch so when we go in the mud alone I have some security.

Wife: Whatever!!!

Me: Well I need a bumper also so I can mount the winch to it.

Wife: Whatever I am so tired of it already.

Me: Oh yeah I also need some spacers to level off the front once the bumper and winch are on.

Wife: WHATEVER!!!!

I wasn't willing to lie, so I made a deal with her that if she didn't ask questions that I'd let her loose on buying junk for the house after I completed my build, and that the build would be done out of "extra" money such as tax returns, et al. God blessed me with a property tax windfall, stimulus rebate, and other things. Otherwise, I'd still be dreaming of it all. For the times she did ask questions I was able to get out of it by describing things too tell and boring her.

I don't think it is exactly trying to lie, maybe more of the cat and mouse game that she knows and your toying with her on the issue.
Or maybe just gloating in how niave our ladies can be

For example I am watching the movie hitman and he stashes the guns in the hallway icebox in the hotel. Later in the movie he grabs them out and
Girl "oh that is what he was doing in there, Why does he have to keep them cold!!!!

Need I say Blonde

I usually tell me my wife that it costs less about 50% of what it really costs.

My spousal unit likes the mods just as much as I do

My latest & greatest is a Warn 9.5 ti winch & the LoD Signature Series Shorty Bumper w/Stinger
...He even knows how much the damage to the checking account was

And... He still knows WHO'S jeep it is ... If he wants one , he can get his own
