Why
I would like to think that those who do not go off road might succumb to the lure of the trail if they had the opportunity to go along with someone else.
If you know someone that owns a 'mall crawler', invite them on you next trail ride. (just don't scare them off with something to severe)
And then you can follow them to the mall one day to see what this 'mall crawling' is all about! (just don't use the first dirty 'vette you see as an RTI ramp)

And, BTW, stock X/sports models are very capable vehicles. Not trying to diss your decision to buy a Rubi. But, I (and many other X/sports owners) have ventured on some pretty technical stuff before I ever started getting serious mod's done.
My rule: If you don't get stuck, you're not trying hard enough.

I got a rare chance to buy for my self a jeep, knowing that I will not have the funds, time, and probably will for modding it, so I got a Rubicon.
It's tough when you have a family (small baby), Work (long hours), mortgage that kills you and etc... not even enough time to play in the trails...

I got a Rubi for my other hobby, photography. It takes me where I need to go. I also got a real good deal on it (17k - KJ tread in).
But a friend of mine has a rubi, but not for the trails or the mall. Her driveway is a dirt shelf road @ 8300ft with about a 10% incline. In winter, I was the only one that could drive up her driveway, so a rubi she did buy.
If your wondering, it was "their" summer house only... until "they" got a divorced.

If a Jeep makes someone happy (regardless of model) they can use it how they see fit. Don't hate if they never take it off road, I am sure they still enjoy it.
