Why all the autos?
I don't mean to offend anyone of you highly outspoken individuals but.....spending time on this forum has made me notice the over abundance of automatics! I mean doesn't that go hand and hand with mall crawler and soccer mom? I have only, and would only buy manual jeeps. I just hope enough people still buy manuals so they don't get rid of the option, like so many auto makers have. It's really difficult to find a manual these days!

But at least it is in my Wrangler...

Don't knock until you've tried it. This is the first auto I've ever owned but it's amazing in the rocks. My friends are stalling and restarting and I just chug right along. That, and I'm old and lazy.

there's an abundance of manuals here in fl...i guess it's based or market? we still get bad traffic here as well but i guess it's a matter of how much one can put up with? and traffic is no different than anywhere else, when it's not moving, it's not moving lol. i personally chose a manual because i personally have never seen an automatic owned by friends or relatives so i thought it was one of those "it's a jeep thing" moment.
Ya, I don't think you will see the decline of manuals for some time yet. With the advancement of manual clutchless transmissions and increased sales, they may change how many manuals roll off the assembly line, but actually getting rid of all together I think is a stretch. A lot of owners have longer commutes and perhaps wives or I should say other family members for any ladies that drive stick out there...that simply do not know how to drive standard. I personally find it easier to wheel with an automatic, I don't have the attention span to clutch/brake/gas while off road.
