Just a FYI,, its not an issue of the 60vs 90 degree of the engine,, buick v6 in the Gran Nationals were of the 60 variety and they had more than enough..
And,, I live in the Pa mountains,, and drive up a 10% grade daily for 2+ miles,, no issues holding 60mph on that except for the curves.. but,, I do hear of some complaining,, I think its more of a programming issue with some jeeps.

Default i've said it b4 and i'll say it again...

i do not think the JK is underpowered! i put a CAI & cat-back exhaust on her last year and it gets me on the freeway fast. i do have a 6 speed, which i think helps?

Exactly, a 6 speed is a bit more powerfull

Anyway, I see that the new generation of owners don't really realise what is a Jeep.
