You mention the 3:21 Gearing. Are there issues, or is it just that that ratio is inadequate for your particular needs? I know that there are many Jeep enthusiats that require very specific "wants," based on the way they intend to use there Jeep. As for me, I will be using mine as a traveling vehicle, both for long and short trips. I don't do off-roading with any Club or the like. I have a buddy thst was "into" Jonfund, and I know that many folks spend as much time on the trails as they can, and I can appreciate the "why" of it. I've done a "trail" or two myself. But this vehicle, based on my current responsibilities and schedule, will be more fundamentally functional -vs-utilitarian.
Reference to gears isn't due to issues just drivability if your had plans to up tire sizing and moving up to the next tire size won't be an issue. Overall the 3:21's will actually be better suited to the your needs as a commuter vehicle since they will give you the best fuel economy so rule 3:21's out as a negative. Also there are no known head issues with the 13's, actually very happy with this motor and its performance. Like others have said weigh out the small cost difference between new and used and at more than $25 k new maybe the better move.

Was able to get them down to $26k, and was in and out of the dealership in 3 hours. Not bad! On a "Saturday" even!! I've spent a whole day in SOME Dealerships in my past.

celebrations will have to wait. my wife was taken into the hospital and she will likely be there for a couple of days. she has some sort of bacteria in her blood that they can't identify and so she's going to be undergoing some testing.

I hope all goes fine with your wife and she is well soon. Right now, she's more important than the Jeep. May both of you be enjoying it soon!
