Default Why you should do your own installations...

I am a bit under the weather and I just had a new baby, but decided to get out of the house for a little bit to get the JK's oil changed. I happened to have some 1 3/4" spacers sitting around for a few weeks and although I wanted to put them on myself, the mechanic said he'd put them on for me. About an hour and a half later, the spacers were on, my oil was changed, and my tires were rotated. So far so good. But when I got home I noticed something inside the Daystar boxes. It was the stock isolators! So my 1 3/4" lift is really only 1". I called the shop and the guy said that the new spacers wouldn't fit right with the old isolators (which we all know isn't true).

So it looks like I will be getting underneath my JK after all...

Default 1 3/4" lift

the daystar spacer is 1 3/4" so you didn't loose any depth, but what I've read on another post is that with out the stock isolator the coil spacer takes a beating.

Yep, I just didn't get the height I wanted. I am going to fix it, I just wish it was done right the first time. I am very impatient that way. I don't understand not doing things correctly.

Yep, do it yourself. Side note- your stock isolater may give you about 1/4 in. It's a really soft squishy piece of rubber.

Yea some mechanics jerk you around and feed you BS constantly. Best thing to do is find a new one. Sucks you gotta do the work over again.

I installed RE 1 3/4'' spacers 14 months ago. I needed 1 1/2'' to level it and leaving out the stock isolator gave me that amount. The springs have caused NO damage to the spacers, I've had ZERO issues.....
