Default The wife wants to trade our 08 in..

We have an 08 red rock JK X, 2.5 teraflex budget boost lift, 285-70-17 duratracs, not many mods really, other than that, it does have the mygig and kicker speakers which I love.. So a few weeks ago my wife drove her friends brand new 13 sport JK, and she loved it, she's been buggin me about how much stronger the new one is and not slow like ours lol.. She wants to trade in... I love my slow jeep, but it does suck anytime we want to go on road trips.. What you guys think? Also would my 33s fit in the stock 13? I don't wanna let go of my tires, just bought them couple months ago

I think 33's would fit. But would get lift later like you have on yours but if you do not plan on wheeling it should be just fine on the road till you buy a lift. Here is mine with 32's and no lift. Click image for larger version

Also I have been very happy with the power of the 3.6. My friend had a real nice 2011 Rubi after he put a lift and 35's it just did not have enough power to do what he wanted. Sad would of liked to go wheeling together. Here is his Click image for larger version

When I sold my stock 13 wheels and tires to a guy and got to talking to him he said his current 2013 was the best he's ever owned. Said he had owned 3 jeep wranglers previous to his new one and didn't like them due to the power. He said he absolutely loves the new engine and so does his family. However, it just comes down to can you afford it? It's not worth putting strain on yourself financially , no car ever is. Here is a good article on wheel size and stock jks http://www.wranglerforum.com/f27/lar...er-142837.html

Good luck to whatever you decide.

The tires will fit with no problems. I have the same on my 2012 Jk 3.73 6spd and still get 19.85 mpg consistently in town.

Is the difference that big between the 3.8 and 3.6? Will my 33s be fine with the 3.73?

Yes. I have a 13 jku 3.21 gears and 6 speed with 315/75/16 (33.75 mounted) and it has plenty of giddy up. Although judicious use of the clutch is required starting up a good grade.
