I think you may get a better deal if you order one, if you are willing to fight it out a little.

I may be wrong, but I think the dealer makes more when you order one because they don't have to make as many, or perhaps any, payments to Jeep for the rig so they have more room to deal. On the other hand, they be more desperate to part with a vehicle that has been on the lot for a while.

If a dealer sees that they have the perfect car for you they feel they have the
upper hand, especially if it is the only one in the area close to what you want. If you order it you have every dealership within 200+ miles to deal with. Just find the one that is willing to make the deal you want and go with them. This gives you more power.

Dealerships are feeling the hit of the economy, Jeep sales are down, you have a good chance of getting a good deal either way, but I think when it is time to get mine I will order it.

When I bought mine I wanted Jeep Green. I also didn't want auto/power anything. Jeep Green, the dealer said, was impossible to keep on the lot. And the dealers get power everything to improve their bottom line.

Well, my bottom line is: When you're spending 25K or so, you should be able to get the color you want. I ordered mine.

I would say go online and do a build up of what you want and if the dealer can't get you something that you can live with for a comprable price then order it depending on your wants and needs you could save some money over settling for the next best thing. I ordered mine and it was the best choice I made I saved money and got everything that I wanted and it was all mine take your time

but not to much time, ordering for the '08's should close in about a month ,based on last year. And who knows, even if you order now if it will get built as an '08, and will the orders roll over again? Or will you need to place a whole new order in June? I don't know, just something else to consider.

Wasn't worth it to me, but it really is a subjective question. I had a few must have options, after that I went with things I would like to have but would be willing to bend on especially if price/deal were a variable. Ultimately I ended up with my second color choice, but every other option I wanted and the best deal I could find in my area.
