Wrangler-based H4 Hummer
Well, the rumor gets stronger. If GM buys the Chrysler group, they may use the Wrangler platform to build a new H4 Hummer. Ouch. At least it's not the other way around...

Oh man.. I'm not sure whether to be sick to my stomach over that, or to be happy at another offroad vehicle entering the market (or another CAPABLE offroad vehicle entering the market).

If they did merge and discontinue the wrangler, don't our currently Jeeps that we have automatically increase in price because there are none made:confused:
I don't want to see it happen in any event but if it does i'm just looking for the silver lining

Well, if GM does buy Chrysler - and continue to make Jeeps - that would be better than one of teh other potential buyers, Renault-Nissan or Hyundai, getting the deal. Can you imagine a Hyundai Jeep?

Even if they did purchase chrysler and use the wrangler platform for a hummer H4 they would not discontinue jeep. The JKs are selling like hotcakes and the idea is to use the same platform for multiple vehicles to cut costs. It doesn't even mean that the jk would change at all. It could however make the hummer H4 suck a little less. Just a thought.
