Default Wrangler>Prius>Passat>Wrangler

Bought my 1st wrangler back in 2007. Unlimited rubi. Ended up with a 2.5" lift, 35s...awesome ride...most fun I've ever had. Well after a couple kids, putting 40k miles a year on a rig that got 15mpg started to not make a lot of sense. So traded in for a Prius which was overall ok to drive b/c of the novelty of getting 50mpg.

Traded that in for a vw Passat diesel in 2014. AWESOME car. 45 mpg, 6sp manual. Lots of torque. Huge interior. Nice simple German styling. When the vw diesel scandal hit I had a choice to make. Wait for the fix and walk with $6k. Or turn the car in for more than I paid for it and walk with $15k. Finally now I've decided to walk and put a cool $15k down on a new ride. That ride will be a wrangler.

Looked at a certified 2012 sport 2-door 6sp today, but it's just too small for two car seats in the back. So bottom line is that it'll likely be a certified unlimited. 6sp is a must.

Looking forward to finding what I'm looking for and re-joining the community.

Incorrect. I've have my kids in the back of my JKR since they were 2 & 4. Is it ideal? No, but is it doable and worth it? Absolutely.

Depends on your car seat, we keep ours (Chico Key-Fit 30) in the back passenger side of our two door, and you either have to scoot the seat way up, or keep the seat back strait up and down to make it fit. I am 97% positive I could not get in and out of the driver's seat, much less drive the thing, if I had the same car seat behind me on he driver's side.

The Jeep still isn't going anywhere, she is staying with us, if we have a second before our little one is ready to move to a different car seat then we just won't take it if we are taking both kids.

Not to discourage from a two door, I love mine, wouldn't have it any other way, just make sure you try it with your car seat before you buy it, or get car seats that fit it a little better.

Also glad to see someone set on a manual. Not too common these days. It really is the only way to go!

Happy Jeeping!
