WTF rear pads already?

Yea, I've seen quite a few JK's have had to replace pads already, most of which are running oversize tires. The nature of the beast.
Just wondering why it's the rear pads that are going quicker, and not the front.
Normally the front wears as quick or quicker than the rear.
I'd recommend replacing with carbon metalic pads. less dust, and better stopping power.

I am going to tear it apart tomorrow. I am thinking it's either from the amount of mud/sand that I go thru or the calipers are hanging up from all of the mud that I have been thru.

One possibility, when you take you pads off check and see if they are organic or metallic lining. A lot of newer cars with rear wheel disk have had organic pads. They grip much better but wear out a lot faster.

had to replace the rears on mine while all the insurance work was being done. they said the rear pads were almost completely gone, but the fronts still looked fine. They checked the braking computer and the ESP computer to make sure it wasn't messing up or something and said everything was fine. only problem to me is the fact that the rear pads were $175 from mopar.
