X/Rubi spec comparison?
I was just doing a side by side comparison of an X and Rubicon. Is the X really 9 inches wider than the Rubicon?? That's what the Jeep website says, 9 inches wider for the X, but it offers only the same hip and shoulder.

Not to hijack, but also what accounts for the inch or so difference in ground clearance bewteen the X and the Rubi? Is that just from the larger tires on the Rubicon?

And even wierder still, the X has about an inch shorter rear overhang. So given similar size tires and springs that the X would have a larger angle of descent?

I don't have a Rubi or an X, but I would have to think the only difference would be ground clearance which would also increase OAH. I have a Sahara and before I bought it I had the salesman park it right next to a Rubi And I measured everywhere I could and they were the same.

I have a 4 door X with stock 255/75R17's Goodyear SRA's. These measure 32 inches. I have compared my X to a Rubi on the dealers lot. Level ground, side by side. They are the same width. The numbers posted must be a typo. The Rubi BFG MT's, even though the same 255/75R17 size as the SRA's actually measure a little larger than the SRA. As much as 1/2 inch.
I was comparing to a soft top Rubi. My X is a hard top. Bumper height was the same. I would say spring height must be the same. I understand the Rubi has a different shock. My stock shocks work very well. In the end, width is the same. Height will be determined by model and accessory package.
