X or Rubicon
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to figure out whether I should pick up an Unlimited X or go with Rubi Unlimited.
Here is my situation.
I want a 6 speed manual.
I plan on running 37's to 39's with probably the TeraFlex 6" Long Arm kit. If I get an X, the money that I save from not getting the Rubi I can use towards said lift kit, D60's ARB front and rear and a 4:1 transfer case.
If I get the Rubicon, I would still have to do the lift, the stock D44's are barely sufficient for 37's and definitely not reliable enough for 39's without perhaps upgrading to chromoly axle shafts.
If you were in my situation, which route would you opt for?
I see that most heavily modified JKs were purchased originally as the "X" model. I think that it makes sense this way.
Thanks for your inputs

Does indeed sound like you have already answered your own question.
Here are something to consider though: If you want something that is extremely capable right out of the box, get ther Rubi. Sometimes the build starts taking longer than you anticipate, and I have seen more than one person in my area build a beast of a TJ (D60's, 5.38's, V8,, etc), only to end up selling it right at the end because their whole time was spent on building instead of wheeling.
