Freeway Ridge, Borderline, and Black Gulch are probably the closest, all up the canyon near Isabella. Then a little further out you have Sherman Jeep Trail and Monache Meadows. Miller Jeep Trail/Gorman is up by Fraiser Park. Out toward Red Rock you have Last Chance and Nightmare Gulch. There are several 4x4 clubs in town you might look at so you dont have go alone. Theres Infectious Offroad (good people but can get a little crazy), the Bakersfield Trailblazers (oldest club in town, I havent wheeled with them recently so really dont have an opinion on them), and 4x4HIM (Family/Christian oriented club, nice bunch of peeps). I think all 3 clubs can be found on FB.

You should be ok on any of them if you take the right lines and air down enough. I havent done the desert trails yet but ive done all the others on the stock rubi wheels and tires. Freeway is imo the best trail in the area. Its got a good mixture of hard and easy lines and most of the hardest stuff can be bypassed if necesary. Just do yourself a favor and dont go alone. If you want someone to go with you pm me and we can run a trail.

Hello, I'm kinda new to Bakersfield, I live out on the upper east side, where are the trails you were talking about? The ones out here in east Bakersfield? Thanks.
