I saw it in an old add once, but I always wondered if it was fake or they helicoptered the truck in or something.

I really want to doubt that it's real... but damn, if it isn't then I don't even want to know what happened as he tried to continue on, haha. I'd probably sh!t a brick in a situation like that.

If that is/was Blackbear, it doesn't look like that anymore.

Nice Pics!

I might be lucky. My wife stayed in the Jeep all the way up and down Black Bear, and never complained once. Funny, when we're offroading is when she complains the least!

No doubt...my wife would have a titty attack.

Great pictures! I'd like to do that pass one day in my unlimited or even on my dual sport motorcycle!

If you move to Montrose - give me a shout - we have a great club -- Western Slope 4 Wheelers. We do lots of runs, several camp outs, trail work and cleanup, ect. Our sponsored trials include Black Bear, Mineral Creek/Engineer, Imogene, Corkscrew, and Poughkeepsie to name a few. We do lots of projects in conjunction with the Forest Service and BLM.

Black Bear is one-way from the summit on the 550 side - down to Telluride. Once a year the Telluride Rotary 4X4 Tour has a permit to do Black Bear backwards. We did that this year with them, then our club got a chance to do it backwards again with Forest Service personnel. So we got to do it once the normal way and twice backwards - probably enough for me for a while. Imogene and Poughkeepsie are my favorites.
