Default Cedro Peak Albuquerque, NM

My wife and I headed up to Albuquerque this last weekend to hang out with some friends and got with JKDave and one of his buddies and went and hit Cedro Peak. We had a great time and realized just how much of a small world Albuquerque is. Here are a few pictures from the trail:

a bunch of dumb-a$$es who got stuck at the trailhead...

my Jeep on the left, Dave's on the right while waiting for the dumb-a$$es to get unstuck...

The first obstacle which proved to be the hardest which Dave bumped right over, me had to air down to get enough traction after attempting it and only going sideways each time.

A better view of the huge rut I created since I couldn't go forward, it was tons of fun nonetheless.

A view of the mountains covered in clouds

Just a great view...

More pics:

Waiting for Dave's buddy who wound up turning around in his Power wagon, not surprised considering how tight some of the switchbacks got.

Our friend and my wife and the buxom snow girl they made while we waited.

Dave checking out a section that when there's no snow it's a lot harder apparently, I think my response to him asking if we wanted to try was heck yea!

The radio tower at the peak.

We liked the trail name...

Thanks for the pics. It looked like a great time. I have seen the tower mountain and want to go up it someday.

Very cool... we went to the Puerco Saturday. The snow was exactly what is needed to make it look nice! Cedro is on the agenda for next week!

Wow...nice, thanks for sharing !!
I never knew a peak was named after our family name, or name established first !! Its definitely a place I would take my family for a visit .

Looks like several Alb jeepers on JK forum... we should meet up somewhere?
Me and my kids went up there Last Sat the 18th right after the snow... we went in maybe a mile after the the second rock slab.... so about 2 miles.... would have gone further but it was late and we were wheelin alone...
I should have air down.... would have made things easier...

Shelly took this and a video going up over the second rock slab....

notice the shovels out..

coming back down over the second rock slab that gave me some trouble going up...

coming out....

snowman fun
