Default Cedro Peak, NM aka what to do on a snow day

Since we received a good amount of snowfall recently here in NM, decided it was time to try the jeep in some snow and hit Cedro Peak with the inner tubes.

Yea, it was a last minute trip idea. Thinking about going again next weekend. If we do, I'll let you know. We totally trashed our inner tubes, gotta find some stronger ones, lol.

haha tubing has always been fun. my 6'1 230lb frame is too big for those tubes they sell at the store. i have to get the big tire tubes from the tire stores. Or an inflatable couch, haha

haha...well we destroyed the tube that you see in that photo. Actually, we destroyed two of them, lol. Since then, I've purchased a much more durable and larger rubber tube, like the ones that go in semi rig tires. Gonna try it out this weekend hopefully.

Yup those semi tubes work great! We use to buy one of those tubes and then ask if they had any old un-repairable tubes that they were going to get rid of. Then we would cut them along the edge to open them up and then glue them to the bottom of the good tube that was already inflated. That will help in case you hit a sharp rock or stick poking out of the snow when you are being pulled. Sleds work good too but for some reason a tube is a lot more fun!

Haha thats the way to go nmwranglerx. the only problem i run into is i usually go with 3 friends and 4 tubes. so that makes for an interesting ride up the mountains with the tubes inflated on top and behind of the jeep. i always get the crazy eyes all the way up the mountains. haha. Oh wow that is a great idea JK44M! I plan on going tubing up in taos in a few weeks. im too clumsey to go snowboarding or skiing, hehe. I am definatly gonna try out your reinforcement idea. I always hate it when the tubes go flat. Always go up with 3or more. but rarely come back with them infated.
