Wow, I thought this thread was dead long ago. Tsmith3418 is exactly correct on that location. And yes, the trails there are easily wide enough for a Jeep. You should have no problem on them, as most are just rough dirt roads. I had no problems at all, and that was when I was bone stock, even tires. But, if you find the area in my photos, be very careful in those "puddles", especially after a recent rain. Some of them are quite a bit deeper than they appear. Get out and check them with a stick first. Here are the Lat/Long. for the Elephant Pit area. Just copy and paste them into the Google Earth search. I tried to link the Google Earth map to this post, but couldn't figure it out. If anyone that reads this knows how to do it, please feel free.

Also, I found out since that original post that it used to be some sort of race track. In the second picture you can see what is left of what i'm assuming is some sort of announcers booth, along with some of the guide rail that used to ring the track. The next time I get up in the area(which unfortunately isn't very often), I'll give you guys a shout to see if you want go out for a ride. It seems like there are alot of members popping up in your neck of the woods.

There are some decent trails that bone stock jeeps won't make I know this from experience haha but it's a good wide open place with lots of trails used to be an old mining town

Yea, I only had a couple of hours of spare time to do any "exploring" when I was up there last year. I was also stock, alone, had no cb, and was getting sporadic cell phone coverage at best, so I thought it best to not get too crazy. I only went where I was 100% sure that I could make it out of, and made sure to check the depth on every water hole before I went through. Plus I had no idea where I was going.
