Default Cross Island [Off]Road, Guam

On Rt. 17 (Cross Island Rd) in Guam there's a well known mud trail headed to a place called Tarzan Falls. This is not an account of that trip. After 3 days without rain I still sank my boots into 18" of red clay... at the trailhead.

So my friend and I went across the street to the hills. The much dryer hills. Behind the Jeep you can see what we started down into:

A scenic photo of the area:

Here's the 'trail' we followed:

This a ridge we had to straddle. The edge dropped off a good 20 ft. on either side.

We turned around here. Nothing but dense jungle in front and to the sides.

It's hard to get a sense of the angle, but we pushed the Jeep to its departure/approach angles. I got a video of my friend fishtailing the Jeep and kicking up a whole lot of mud as it tried to climb out.

Back on the Naval Base there was a dirt pile with a solid 30+ degree incline/decline that we crawled. The underbrush on the front bumper *was* decorating that hill. We got videos of the climb too.

This is one of those 30 ft. tall rock piles you see at big construction sites. ...There weren't any workers around, and it was just calling to me you see...

Wow! Wheeling on Guam! I could not have imagined. I spent some of my younger years there on Andersen AFB. That was back in the 1980s before I was old enough to drive.

That's awesome! The weather there spoiled me as a kid. In 1990 we moved from there South Dakota. Talk about a temperature shock!

Very cool, I have a neighbor heading there soon (Navy), he's thinking about getting a Jeep too, I'll have to show him this thread. Thanks for posting.
