Hey, if you're dealing with canoes and water in general, may as well go ALL the way!!! Betcha that was a sight to behold

For while you're not driving: Get a Bestop Trail Cover. It covers the entire tub and passenger compartment, all the way down to the door sills. And, I recommend Red Ledge raingear. And a real hat: One with a full brim. Baseball caps suck in the rain.
Neat . We'll have to get together sometime in the near future and compare these when I get a chance to put mine on this weekend. I'll definitely look into the Trail cover - is it fairly easy to put on/take off? I remember having a 99 Sea Ray a while back and had a large 18' soft cover that took me almost 30 minutes to put on and even longer to take off and roll up. I was thinking about getting this just as an extra protection and to counter my leak issue anyway - this gives yet another reason to consider it.

And I know exactly what you mean by the baseball caps. I lost one to the wind and didn't feel like pulling over on I44 to chase after it. Bet it don't do much justice in the rain either

I really don't think water does anything to these jeeps. I pressure wash the inside of mine. Radio and all, no problems as of yet.

Radio and all??? WOW. See, when I had my 03 F-150, I used to wash the floors using a garden hose - never pressure washed it. I know these things are designed to be more rugged, given the nature of the vehicle. Although I probably wouldn't venture to pressure wash the inside of mine [radio included], it's good to know that having that amount of water didn't affect it any.

Ruining stuff also gives me an explanation when I buy stuff.

Just so long as you let us know what RUINS and what don't I still have a long way to go on my "to do" list of stuff I want before ruining what I already have

Amen to that! Sad part is that my to-do list grows faster than the piggy bank does

I had some money saved for a lift and tires and all that, then tuition happened now I'm back to being broke. But before to long I can take my school books in and sell them, so I'll have a little bit saved. Why do Jeep parts have to be so expensive? :(, why can't I have a cheaper hobby... like knitting or something. lol, at least at then end of the day I'd have a new pair off socks, instead of driveway full of mud.

Vamp1re--if you're buying your school books at the school bookstore, or even that one just north of the campus, let me tell you what my son figured out: He can get his books each semester for about half the cost of the OU bookstore--just by buying online. Many folks out there are selling their books which they used lightly, and sometimes are even new, for about half price--which is probably 2-3 times what you'll get for them by taking them to the campus bookstore. If this interests you, I'll get him to tell me the websites where he's had the greatest luck.

It's a two or three minute job--if that. It speeds up putting it on if you first develop a system to roll it up when removing it, but after you get that figured out you can have it on/off in a jiffy.
