Yeah it was a great turn out. surprised so many could make it. We should start planning for a Summer '08 Meet and Ride for everyone. Somewhere Middle o fthe staes, easy for everyone. Suggestions? Sponsors? Coverage? I've been to some Grand Slams events when I had my Grand. Nice showing. I just imagine that the JK following would be even more impressive! Just an idea!

It wouldn't be a short drive, but it would neat to head out to CO - have a good friend there with his jeep. I guess the question would be whether there should be a single event or an east coast and west coast event - there might be a bigger turn out for two since having to drive from the east coast to even CO is going to limit participation. But no question there might be nicer areas to wheel in the west.
If something like this did get in the works, it would be helpful I guess to form a group or committee to organize it. And I agree, looking for sponsorship would make sense as long as the event doesn't turn in to a commercial thing - the community should drive the event and the sponsorship can defray costs or add to the event in some way. Worth considering sponsorship from Jeep? Can't imagine that wouldn't be interesting in knowing 200 JKs are showing up at a ride... but then it might change the nature of the event.
I also wonder if this ends up any different then a Jamboree? Are we creating something that already exists? Just thinking out loud. Or maybe the organization is driven through multiple Jeep clubs? (I know there will be that question of JK-only versus including other jeeps - I think we want all jeeps?)
I think in the end it would be nice to keep this as an organized but informal meet and greet - but I guess we can't help but introduce some organization given the logistics and sponsorship would be nice to reduce some costs.
I think the idea is great and I just wanted to put out some (random) thoughts..

I'm with you, I don't mind the mud as long it as it stays on the outside of the Jeep. It was pretty fun to watch though
