JK vs TJ, & YJ
I went wheeling with two guys, both had YJ's, lifted on 33's, true trail rigs. I had my 07 4 door JK with a 4" pro-comp short arm with 35"s. I had my wife and two kids in the jeep and we were taking paths all over the place with very little effort and most of the time in 4H.
These guys were getting stuck, throwing in 4L, spinning their tires and almost breaking their drive train trying to get out of their own way.
They were definitely looking at my rig in a different light after that.

I've had numerous jeeps of all makes and builds, some mild, some built ( a cj on 60s and a yj with rockwells and a BBC). Although I do miss the yj or buggy, my jk is my favorite jeep by far. My family has outgrown the 2 doors. So between being able to take the family wheeling I. Comfort and a new project I love it. I have no major plans for a cut up but a hemi 60s and my own 4 link are in the future of it.
One thing I love is wheeling with a friend who has a rubicon TJ on 35s and being able to out wheel him hands down.
For our area of wheeling it's hard and rough. It takes sometimes lots of wheel speed and wb. His rubi being a tj hinders him. He can't get enough wheel speed to get moving because of his 4:1 tcase and his wheelbase isn't quite what it needs to be comfy. But hey, he has a Rubicon!! Haha. All in fun. I'll never do without a JKU now.

I loved my TJ to death but it was a tank especially on rough roads at speeds over 25. My buddy had a mid 90's YJ and my brother has a CJ 5. The easiest way to describe them is by ride.
CJ 5: German Tiger WWI (functional)
YJ: M4 Sherman (improvement)
TJ: M551 Sheridan (refined comfort and size)
JK: M1A2 Abrams (the Cadillac of tanks)

I love my JKU but still long for one of the WW II models, military "dressed" and with all accessories, including the wire catcher and 50cal mount. ;-)
In an ideal world I would have both in my garage. Sadly can only have one so I picked the JKU.
