Knob Hill, Southern Nevada
Getting there:
When traveling south on US Highway 95 heading towards Searchlight Nevada, and once you have passed the Nelson Highway (NV 165), watch for mile marker 31, the turn should be right after the mile marker, turn left (east).
If you are traveling north on Hwy 95 from Searchlight, watch for mile marker 30, and approximately .9 (9 tenths) of a mile past (north of) mile marker 30 on your right (east side of the road, just before mile marker 31). Here you will turn right and head east.
Note: if you have MyGig or certain map books the road should be Grandpa’s Rd. MyGig is the only GPS I have seen that has this road.
Travel east on this road for approximately 4.22* miles and turn right (south, at approximately 35° 39’44.20”N, 114°53’10.06”W**) follow for about 2.75* miles to a fork (35°39’21.05”N, 114°50’36.42”W**) in the road veer right and you are there.
you can also take NV 165 into Nelson and take the Nelson Cutoff Road about 6.2* miles from NV 165.
Once in the area there are several good camp sites and many roads and trails.
This is my favorite place to camp and trail spot; so, if you decide to come and enjoy this wonderful place please keep it clean.
