Wow, that looks like a lot of fun exploring!

Example - group of guys come at you from all sides even if none of them are armed they will be once they reach the armory that is your rig. You should rethink what you are doing.
His normal load-out is perfect - .45 on hip, Shotgun slung around the back, and AR in a tactical ready position across the chest....

Thats about right. I hope that other guy dosnt think I'm some kind of hillbilly tank wandering the desert looking for trouble. I should point out that guns are my other hobby. The truth about being in southern AZ is, if your aware of your surroundings and respect other people property you'll never get into trouble out here

However in my decades of wandering the desert I have never come across such a situation. And yes, we go shooting a lot out in the desert, so bringing tons of firepower along is nice.
With others that is the perfect set-up.

I usually just have the pistol and rifle. I only bring the arsenal when we plan on shooting. Its been too hot for standing outside and plinking lately. Im ready for some cooler weather!
I am looking for an efficiant way to secure a rifle or 2 in the jeep without taking up much space. I saw an overhead rack I like a lot.

I always heard that private ownership or posession of firearms in Mexico was a bigtime crime.

Looking at it on Google Maps...are there not many fences down that way or is it just open land? Looks interesting.

The only fence I saw along the border was a barbed wire cattle fence. Once you get closer to big towns like Nogales you see the big wall. But out here in the wastland unless your a cow, crossing is easy
