more trails being seized as national landmarks...
Another reason why all California Jeep Owners should belong to CORVA (California Off Road Vehicle Association) and any other Off Road organization to fund the fight against closing areas we have enjoyed for years.
I didn't even know there was such an organization. I'll be looking them up and joining today.
You know what that means.

And BTW, for those folks who for some reason think it's okay to just go out and drive anywhere in the desert because, well, it's a desert and you can't hurt anything, there is a place designated for that by the state adjacent to the Mojave National Preserve (it's current designation). Let those people stay in the Rasor OHV park and keep them away from those areas that still serve to remind us that we live in a beautiful country.

Hey Mark-who is talking about Grand Staircase/Escalante NM? The Democratic Party is controlled by the extreme environmental lobby who would like to close all public access to federal lands. Look at any western state map and you will find extensive wilderness areas set aside. Yea, the mean republicans want to rape the land and destroy it for future generations. My degree was in natural resource mgmt back in the old days when federal lands were designated for multiple use.
Natural resources today can be extracted with minimal impact on the environment. By the way it was your President's EPA that caused the recent disaster in CO and is still refusing to accept the blame. It is your President who vetoed the Keystone Pipeline which means that oil will be transported in a much unsafer way and most likely refined in a third world country that will not have the pollution controls we would have.
Mark, love your videos but if you are so concerned about fossil fuels maybe you should do your part and stay in your own state to conserve your usage.
By and large the off road community practices Treat Lightly which I am a member of. Your recent trip to the Maze District is a good case in point-that area is under responsible management and yet the Red Rock Alliance seeks to close that and nearly one-third of the state of Utah from off road access.
Don't even get me started on recent comments by President Obama and Mrs. Clinton on gun confiscation as done in Australia.

The Grand Staircase closure was also opposed by the local ranchers and off-roaders who had been using it's trails forever. Case in point was the Sheep Creek-Upper Paria River that we went down in 1999 just before it was closed. The most beautiful trip we've ever taken, and had my parents in their 80's with us. I've also been on the Maze and Mojave trail, great trips.
The existing trails should be kept open to us, travel restricted to those trails and if use is too heavy, use permits to slow it down like they do for The Maze. That's the sensible and responsible thing to do that accommodates everyone, but often is not done. It shouldn't be them or us, and the locals should have priority in the decision.
Access should not be limited to the able hikers only where trails already exist!

Clinton was doing it to damage Utah because he did not have their electoral support, and didn't even have what it took to announce the closure in Utah.
