It's a house that is literally right on the beach facing the ocean.
We are going to drive the Rubicon down there.
My wife will be fussing about the noise from the 37" Mud grapplers and the new MBRP offroad exhaust. That's all music to my ears.
I can't wait to get down there and drop the top and cruise the beach!
I just hope we can get everything packed into it.
My wife tries to take the whole house with her.
Nice area, very remote. Our place is at the Currituck Club. I am out there a few weeks a year. We have a TJ, 2" lift w/ 35's out there for the Beach. There is nothing like cruising the beach, you will have a blast....and you will be cleaning sand out of the JK for years

acroos from the oregon inlet fishing center is a beach access that is pretty nice... you can drive out to the point. also the northpart of 12 where the road ends goes on for miles and is always open for beach driving. i was stationed at oregon inlet for four years

Love going to Ocracoke Island. Great place, ferry access only. Plenty of beach to ride on, and crowds aren't too bad, compared to say Oregon Inlet, which gets extremely packed, especially on holidays, as does Carolina Beach. Miss Ocracoke, used to go alot when I lived in eastern NC, but from Charlotte its quite a haul.

Just remember the area you're talking about is patrolled by Currituck County Sherrifs (vs. National Park Rangers for the beaches down south). The Currituck boys have the ability to write a $50 "revenue generating" ticket for pretty much any reason they want to (a group of JKs got tickets for just being near an area where someone else did a donut), so be sure to read their rules (which are posted on a sign as you enter the sand). They also enforce other county rules that aren't posted on that sign, such as "no driving through the surf", which is allowed on the southern beaches.

You can follow what areas are closed by this link http://www.preservebeachaccess.org/l...aysaccess.html. This is updated weekly. We go in one more month
Very awesome link! Reading that page, there's a link to where you can view the real time (well, updated weekly) open/closed info directly in Google Earth. That was very cool!

I'll just consider the sand a suvineer from a great time.
I used to live in Kitty Hawk back in 1985-1987.
We used to go out to Oregon Inlet on the weekends after work and have a blast.
I only dread the drive from Lynch station VA to Carova Beach.
Once we get there we should have everything we will need for the week.
I can't wait!!
