Default OffRoading at Capitan Pass NM

Just as promised here are some pics of Capitan Pass NM, I hope it took good enough ones...and it was from cellphone, so please forgive quality of pics. The trail is nothing challenging but was a nice view...at one point of the trail on the side of the mountain was a lot of snow and the snow covered dirt road made it interesting. But it was fun

Hey those look pretty nice,
I've been meaning to go, but just can't find the time. How was the weather (temp)? I know it was getting cold at night, but what about during the day? I was planning to go out there this last weekend, but after hearing about all the water issuse in ruidoso, I didn't think it would be that nice to stay there over the weekend? man I can't wait.

PM me some directions. to some of the trails you took.

Mojo nice view up there, good to see you were able to get a trail in! Is that the same trail through Lincoln national?

is this the trail that you head up when you go through capitan gap? I did that last year after some snow and the snow was pretty deep. I came up to a fallen tree and couldn't go any further. I agree it is an easy trail but with snow its a whole different feeling. I live in Roswell and have been looking to go.. we should get something together.. i have pics from when I went. As soon as I find em I'll post.

here is a video I found from when I went last year. To find this trail you go to capitan gap, then at the gap you go east. I believe its called east mountain. lol .

The weather was not actually that bad, we had reservations at a cabin in the upper canyon but it got cancelled cause of the shutting off of the water. But we managed to find something else. Other than seeing a few NM army national guard convoys driving around the Ruidoso Village was just normal as usual. I'll PM you the directions

Yes sir! It was through Capitan Gap and it is in the lincoln Forest. You are right as for the snow its a different feeling but we liked it! I totally agree with you as for trying to get something together, would be fun...there are some open areas that would be great for a picnic. I have more pics but for some off reason I am unable to load them up....but it was very nice

I have no idea, but you can enter Capitan NM on your GPS and it will come out. Capitan is a small town so you will have a destination point on there. hope that helps
